It's amazing how much the Internet has shrunk the world. You can find any information, visit anyplace, talk to any one.
Bookworm that I am, if someone had told me only a decade ago that I could reach out to any contemporary writer and talk to them, I would never have believed it. nowadays, writers are a massive presence online. They value the feedback they can get directly from their readers, make us of the unprecedented PR opportunities offered by the social platforms - Facebook, twitter,  Tumblr, etc.
I love this - I know a writer's time is better employed writing those books I am waiting for, but still, it's a thrill. And I love giveaways - another tool of choice of writers.
